Alfonso Reyes
Architect & Visual Artist
Alfonso Reyes was born in Montevideo, Uruguay in July 1994. Since he was a child, he had an artistic education and a great attraction for drawing, which influenced him when choosing his career, architecture.
Since 2019 he lives in Barcelona where he was in the art scene and has continued his artistic exploration attending workshops at the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Sant Lluc and at the painting academy of the Catalan artist Joaquim Santaló.
His artistic career is on the rise and he is planning to continue his artistic education outside of Uruguay to nurture and surround himself with new ideas.
Architect with Master in Design and Technology at UPC (Barcelona)
My work includes drawings, painting, sculpture, photography, installations, design, and architecture. Although my main focus is painting, I see art as a multidisciplinary discipline.
As an artist I investigate human interactions as the basis for understanding the society in which we live; faces, bodies and everyday scenes come together to generate my vision of current problems and the ironies that we are constantly surrounded by.
To achieve this, I represent human beings with animals and fantasy characters in order to represent fear, joy, sadness, anger and love from a constant dialogue between color and matter.
The scenes and colors that I propose are intended to sensitize the audience and generate a reflection on the current world that we live.
